Becoming parents changes your relationship, too.
No one really prepares you for this part.
Having a baby changes a lot more than your sleep schedule. The transition to parenthood can shift how you communicate, divide responsibilities, experience intimacy, handle conflict, and find time to feel like partners—not just co-parents.
Becoming Us offers a structured space to prepare for — and navigate — those changes together.
There’s plenty of advice about what to put on the registry, how to feed a baby, and what to expect during birth. There’s a lot less conversation about what happens to the two of you when you become parents.
Suddenly, there are more decisions to make, less sleep to make them on, and a tiny person whose needs don’t care whether you’ve finished your argument.
You may find yourselves navigating different expectations about parenting, dividing a workload neither of you fully anticipated, figuring out what happened to intimacy, managing opinions from extended family, or wondering how to stay connected when most of your conversations seem to be about bottles, diapers, schedules, and who got up last.
None of that means something is wrong with your relationship. It means your relationship is changing.
And that’s something you can prepare for together.
What is Becoming Us™?
Becoming Us™ is a relationship‑focused parenting program designed to help partners stay connected through one of the biggest transitions they’ll experience together.
Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or already discovering just how much parenthood can change the way you relate to one another, Becoming Us™ gives you practical tools for navigating those changes as a team. Some of the topics we’ll discuss are:
Staying connected
Make space for your relationship even as your time, energy, and attention are being pulled in new directions.
Talking when you're tired
Build communication skills that still work when you're sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, or convinced that you are definitely the one who got up last.
Sharing the load
Talk openly about expectations, roles, mental load, and the invisible work of keeping a family running.
Making room for both of you
Navigate changes in identity, intimacy, priorities, family relationships, and what it means to become parents while still being partners.
You’re expecting your first baby and want to prepare for the relationship changes ahead.
You’ve recently become parents and things feel different between you.
You want to communicate better and prevent resentment from taking root.
You’re trying to figure out how to share the physical, emotional, and mental load.
You love each other—and would like to feel a little more like partners and a little less like coworkers managing a very demanding tiny boss.
Is Becoming Us™ right for us?
You don't have to be struggling to tend to your relationship. Becoming Us™ can be helpful whether you're preparing for what’s ahead or already in the thick of it.

Not exactly. Becoming Us™ focuses on preparing for the relationship transition that comes with becoming parents—the changes in communication, intimacy, roles, expectations, mental load, identity, and connection that can happen before and after a baby arrives. It pairs well with childbirth or newborn-preparation classes, but it’s doing a different job.
